Outlook 2002: How is the pop3 password saved when checking "remember
password" in pop3 setup? We're trying to set up Outlook for roaming users,
and would like them to be able to NOT entering the pop3-password on each
logon. Is it possible to acceive this by copying some file or registry key
to the users profile on the (Novell)-server?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your answer, but I don't see how these docs can solve my problem:

In our office, we have several users using the same computers. We save the
personal profiles on a server, providing that the user gets his own setup
when logging on. The Outlook configuration is also one of the elements taken
care of in this way.

A lot of users have problems keeping track of all their passwords, and we
want them to be able to check "Save password" in Outlook, and transfer this
information to their profile. Then the next user should be able to login to
another computer in the network, start outlook and get access to their pop3
account without entering more passwords.

Is this possible? I should presume that windows have to save the pop3
password somewhere, but is it encrypted in a way that makes it impossible to
"export" it to another computer?

That's what I suspected. My hope is that it is possible to export this
registry setting to the server, and use the logon script to import it back
when logging on to another computer. Does anyone know which registry key
this is?
