Hi all,

When moving from the Outlook inbox to a subfolder of my
personal folders, or from subfolder to subfolder, there is
a delay of between 5-10 seconds the first time the folder
is accessed. Subsequent accesses are speedy. On Outlook
97, the speed the folder could be opened was directly
related to the number of e-mails in the folder. In
Outlook 2002, even small folders can take a long time.

Are there any performance tuning settings that could be
configured to overcome this?

TIA

this speeds up things as well for Outlook 2002

And you are reading from an Exchange server? It could be because you are
using ost-files. Configure your Exchange account properties to not use a
folder for Offline storage (ost) and see if it makes a difference.
