Computer: Dell Dimension 4600 with Windows XP
Problem: I have never been able to save a single entry into any part of Outlook 2002 - always get: "messaging interface has returned an unknown error." Brand new HP Pocket PC h1945 works great EXCEPT for Outlook 2002.

This is making me crazy. Someone out there must have an answer, but I'm pessimistic after reviewing the number of posted messages about this same error message, and the lack of any replies. I NEED TO USE MY OUTLOOK 2002! One MVP recommended using Service Pack- 2; I only have SP-1. Tried downloading updates, reinstalling, rebooting...

Could it be that I have AOL??

Just some other ideas...

1) Your .PST file isn't anywhere near 2GB in size, is it?
2) Have you tried running the Inbox Repair Tool against your .PST? (Don't
do this if your file is near 2GB)

Windows XP hides .PST files. Search in hidden and system folders and you
should find them. The Inbox Repair Tool is a file called scanpst.exe and
you should find it by searching your hard drive (it isn't a hidden file).
