Outlook 2002 - Instability - What to do?

I use Outlook 2002 on Windows XP Home. It crashes frequently. What could be
the problem and what is the solution?

There are two crash scenarios. First, when I first boot up and start
Outlook, I get a short message: "The Operation Failed." Nothing else. It
won't send, receive, etc. This happens about once a month for the past 6
months; lately it's been about once every two weeks. I've been reinstalling
Outlook which seems to be a temporary fix. Second, a new problem within the
past few weeks. When I try to reply I receive the error message: "Not
implemented." What's this?

Frankly, I'm tired of having to fix these issues. What is a permanent fix?
I've got a lot of email stored and I hate to lose it. Would an upgrade to a
new Office work? Should I just move to another email program, such as Eudora?

Your assistance is appreciated! Thanks.

Thanks for the advice. Sounds like I should just create a new profile.
Question: Is it possible to have too many emails stored in Outlook? I have A
LOT.

Each folder can hold up to 64K items. Each PST can hold up to 2GB worth of
data (but I wouldn't let it grow beyond 1.5GB).

if you exceed 2 gb, you'll lose data. either create a new pst using file,
new, outlook data file and set it as the default message store or archive
your mail - archives moves old stuff to the archive pst and leaves your
current pst in place as the default delivery location.
