Outlook 2002 distribution list contacts aren't saved

I set up a Contacts email distribution list with Outlook 2002/XP. Since my
ISP is MSN I also use Outlook Connector. When I attempt to send out an email
using the distribution list, the email addresses are gone and the
distribution list is empty. I've used the detect and repair option but this
hasn't fixed this issue. Anyone have an idea why I'm having this problem and
how I can fix it?
Thank you!!!
DFW

I create them in Outlook 2002/XP. When I try to use them later when sending
out an email, the distribution list shows no email addresses associated with
the distribution list.

Yeah but you're not using a real mail provider. You're using MSN. Outlook
Connector might help, but is not supported on a version of Outlook as old as
yours.

Russ,
That's all fine and dandy but it doesn't answer my question of why Outlook
2002/XP doesn't save the email contacts when I set up a distribution list.

Russ,
I create a distribution list in Outlook, using NEW and selecting

select the members, click on UPDATE and then SAVE.

Fine. But I asked where you where creating the DL. You are using an
unsupported HTTP account as your only transport. You have at least 2
different PST files, right. And I have no idea how and whether you
configured the Outlook Address Book.

So, the Microsoft Outlook 2002 group doesn't support the Microsoft Network
ISP team? Is that like General Motors not supporting their engines since
they were made in a Buick factory? Enough carping and let's get back to the
topic....
The PST file should be located at: drive:\Documents and
Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook. When I
click FILE, DATA FILE MANAGEMENT, Outlook shows "not available" for my email
address. The Personal Folders do use the PST file path specified above (it
shows drive:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Personal Folders(3).pst). I do see the Filename
listed under Archive Folders, another for an email account using gmail, and 3
Personal Folders.
As for how & whether I configured the Outlook Address Book, please explain
what details you're looking for so I can provide the information.

No. I'm saying that to use an MSN HTTP account you must use the Outlook
Connector, which is only compatible with Outlook 2003 and 2007.
Your Outlook profile is a mess. How did you end up with 3 PST files? There
is way more to your story than you have been able to tell us that would
explain why you cannot create and save DL's.

It won't let me see the data files since it's managed by Outlook Connector.
Here's what's in the Outlook Data File:
archive.pst
DanaMSNsmtp.gmail.com-00000015.pst
Outlook1.pst
Outlook.pst
OutlookMSN-00000005.pst
Personal Folders(1).pst
Personal Folders(2)backup.pst
Personal Folders(2).pst
Personal Folders(3).pst
Personal Folders(4).pst
I've used the Outlook program since August 2002. MSN's Outlook Connector
was originally set up to sync with Outlook 2002 and MSN mail.
I'm just curious why I have no problem with other DL's except for the latest
one that keeps erasing the contact emails so the DL shows no contacts
associated with it.

I can't help you. I doubt anyone can. Your Outlook version is long out of
support and not compatible with HTTP mail from MSN. The long list of
redundant PST files indicates a corrupt profile from end user error in
migrating Outlook data incorrectly.
