Outlook 2002 crashes silently on load

After a long run of very reliable performance, I am
experiencing some strange problems loading Outlook 2002.
Here's my setup:

Outlook XP SP2, all office updates.
Connecting to Exchange Server

When I load Outlook, it displays the splash screen, and
the Outlook shortcuts bar, but the main window doesn't
fill in, and a few seconds later, the program abruptly
quits with no error message or event log trace.

If I go to my outlook profile, remove the Exchange
account, readd it, and relaunch outlook, it works fine.

But then, if I quit Outlook and then try to restart it,
the problem reappears.

If I go to another machine on my LAN running Outlook, my
connection to Exchange works fine.

I've already tried detect & repair, reinstall, and wiping
my outcmd.dat files.

Any other ideas out there in MVP-land? Thanks in advance.

Have you tried a new profile?
