I have a similar problem to previous post that thread
didn't have solution. Cannot get outlook to see contacts
only empty personal address book when clicking to tab in
email. When I go to Contacts Properties and click on the
Outlook Address Book tab, there is a checkbox for "show
this folder as an email address book" and it is grayed
out. So i can't check it as the help files suggest.

Any Ideas? Thanks

Is it a PAB (Personal Address Book) or the Contacts folder that is empty!
Does it help if you remove the Outlook Address Book Service and then re-add.
To remove go to Tools > Email Accounts > View or Change existing directories
or address books > NEXT > highlight and Remove the Outlook Address Book >
close and restart Outlook and then re-add by following the above process but
using ADD > close and restart Outlook

Thanks. It was the outlook address book. I had contacts
all set up in outlook but couldn't check the properties
box to make it the default address book. Deleting and
reinstalling the outlook address book unblocked the
checkbox in contacts properties so I could use the
contacts as the outlook address book and now can get back
to emailing friends!

Thanks again for your advice.
