Hi,

My system is XP SP1 and I have the Office XP Developer suite installed.

Outlook 2002 (XP) ran fine until a week or so ago:

Now, each time I open Outlook it runs, but if I close and re-open it -
Outlook will start and then after a few seconds... it closes.

When I open it again, it stays open, but if I close and re-open it...
Outlook closes again.

This cycle is consistent and reproducible.

I have tried using safe mode via both the /safe switch and holding the
<ctrl> key, to try and eliminate the following conditions:

i) An add-in malfunctioning
ii) A corrupted Toolbar
iii) Corrupt messages

....but this made no difference to the behaviour I've described.

I have looked in both the Application and System logs of the Event Viewer,
but nothing is being written.

From searching GoogleGroups, I can see this problem affects other users.

I have searched the MS Knowledgebase and have followed the procedure in
article 290231.

Any help or ideas would be very much appreciated.
