Outlook 2002 can not be set as defaul mail program

Hello,

I have problems synching with my Palm Pilot and I believe
the problem is, that Outlook can not be set to be the
default mail program.
Within the Outlook settings, the respective flag (being
the default mail program) is set. But if I go to the
control panel-internet options-programs Outlook does not
appear in the list box for e-mail programs. I only have
Outlook express and Hotmail in there (the same if I look
at the internet options - default programs from within IE
6). This leads to the problem, that I get an error "there
is no default mail program" when I try to synch between
the Palm and Outlook.
I am looking forward to any kind of suggestions.

Have you tried a repair already? In Outlook g to Help->
Detect & Repair
