Hello,

I have several users that were receiving alot of spam. I suggested that
they setup a rule to delete the messages from there inbox. Over the
weekend the users received approx. 2000 spam messages. Now on about 20% of
the machines affected by this problem Outlook is freezing up. I have
deleted the messages, deleted the rules but after viewing one mail message
the client locks up and they cannot use outlook for mail.

The machines are not infected by a virus. They were working fine on friday
before they recieved all these emails. The emails don't have attachments.

One time I recieved a message that said the WMS spooler was not responding
( If this helps to narrow down the problem).

Please help.

Start Outlook with the Preview Pane off. If this doesn't work try starting
Outlook from the Start-> Run command with the /safe switch.

Also note that Outlook 2000 is already at servicepack 3 and a security
update.
