It used to work - now it doesn't! I export my calendar from my works account
in pst format (outlook97). When I try to import into my outlook 2000 account
at home I get the following error:-
Properties for this information service must be defined prior to use
clicking OK the gives the message that the file xxxxxxxxxxx could not be
accessed
I am stumped - the only difference I can see is that the file is now quite
bigger than it used to be - now 22,386kb
How do I define properties prior to use? What can I do to correct the
problem?
Thanks in advance

Never export to or import from a PST. It often leads to problems. Instead,
just copy the original OL 97 PST to the other machine and use
File>Open>Personal Folders File to open it. Open the calendar folder,
display it in a table view, select all the items with CTRL-A, then click
Edit>Copy to Folder and specify your default calendar. Right-click the
added PST and choose Close.

Is the filke on a CD? If so save to your HDD, (do NOT overwrite any existing
pst file), and remove any Read-Only attribute. then follow Brian's
instructions.

Thanks Gordon and Brian. Followed both your advice and it worked. Now,
don't know whether to start a new thread, but I now have duplicates which on
this occasion was not too onerous to manually delete using various simple
techniques. Don't suppose you guys know of an easy way to get rid of these
duplicates. Using the methods you advise I suspect, this will be a growing
problem.
