I am getting an insufficient memoy or systems resources
error message whenever I try to write or read or open
messages. This just started. I read the message below
and emptied my deleted messages folder. The problem
continues. It happens now even with all other programs
close, such as Internet Explorer.

Any ideas? I cannot get Outlook to work now.

Sounds like you may need to some disk maintenance. The
issue may be that you have so little free space available
on the HD that nothing has room to work.

Check your free space and, if possible, fragmentation on
the HD and go from there. (Also, look at the amount of
space being used by .tmp files. To do that, you'll need
to RUN command to get a DOS window open. Type "cd \"
(without the quotes} and hit [Enter]. Then type [dir
*.tmp /s" (again, skip the quotes). At the end of the
listing, it tells you how many *.tmp files there are, and
how much space they're using.)

Do that much to see if this related to your prob. It
might not be, so there's no point going further until you
either eliminate this or confirm it.
