Whats the quickest and safest way to transfer my data/pst files from my old
Outlook2000 to a new install of Outlook2003 ? I've seen a post lately that
said it might work by just installing the OL2003 and it will prompt you to
transfer but it said it might not transfer all files ?

Jerry

Are you installing Outlook 2003 on the computer with Outlook 2000? If yes,
there is no "transfer" required as Outlook will use the previous version's
settings. You may have to install the Outlook Address Book service if
upgrading from and IMO installation.

Thanks for the quick reply. What's a IMO installation ? I've still just have OL2000 and haven't installed OL2003 yet as waiting to see what will work best.
I have the disc for both Outlook's and I have a 230 contacts saved. I'd hate
to type all of them in again !

In Outlook 2000, look under Help->about. It should say either Corporate or
Workgroup or Intenet Mail Only (IMO) If CW mode you should not have a
problem. If IMO, you will need to add the Outlook Address Book service.
See this group's archives for instructions.

What if you are trying to transfer contacts from Outlook 2000 on one computer
to Outlook 2003 on another computer? I have backed up my contacts on disc on
a pst file so how do I load them into the Outlook program on the other
computer? They aren't networked.
