Why can't I set up Outlook profiles in Outlook 2000 ? I
think I could do it in 97 and I know I can in 2002.
Normally I just go into control panel, mail and there is a
place to set up multiple profiles. Help says to log into
W2K as a different user but this is kinda unhandy.

You would need to post your mail support mode of Outlook 2000 for anyone to
answer.

I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean "Internet
Only" ?? If so, that's what I have.

Internet Mail Only mode does not use profiles.

If you're using Internet Mail Only mode, you need to setup OS level user
profiles. Also if you installed Outlook before setting up user profiles
you've got to delete this key in the registry after you've logged in as a
'new' user to eliminate the profile that's copied to each new user from the
original user:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Messaging
Subsystem\Profiles\Microsoft Outlook Internet Settings

When you startup Outlook the first time it will recreate that profile for a
new user with a new PST file

All Outlook versions support profiles. IMO was an aberrant mail support mode
of Outlook 98/2000 that did not.
