I'm running Outlook 2000 and have the 'Outlook Today' view open by
default when I launch the application. I managed a while back, to
customize the entries on the Outlook Today page, but now when I click
one of the links to a mail sub-folders I created under 'Messages'
(e.g. an 'Action' folder), I get the error: 'Unable to display the
selected folder or item. Could not complete the operation. One or
more parameter values are not valid.'

Also, the customize button - which used to be on this 'Outlook Today'
page and which I used to customize this page, is now missing.

Can anyone perhaps shed some light on this strange behaviour and help
me get the 'customize button' back so that I can delete these folder
entry links and re-enter them?

Thanks
Jonathan

The following MSKB article provides the fix for this issue.

I did try the registry hack (MS KB 820575), but with no success - the
'Customize Outlook Today' button did not return. I have nevertheless
had a full re-installation done on a new laptop that I've just aquired
today and the button is now back there. I guess something in Outlook
might possibly have become corrupted.
Thanks for the help Jocelyn.

In that case, you may want to try completely resetting the default Outlook
Today page. The following MSKB article will help -- it's not written for
your particular situation, but the instructions should still work.
