Outlook 2000 - Outlook.exe program error

When I attempt to open OUTLOOK from the desk top icon, I
receive an error message stating:

"outlook.exe has generated errors.

Does anyone have a correction for this problem or solution.

PS - I also receive this error when I attempt to open
outlook from: "start/programs.
