When I try to open OUtlook 2000 it won't open past the
title bar and says it is not responding. The pst file is
613 MB - is that possibly the reason, and if so what can I
do about it? Is there another reason and how could I fix it?

Any thoughts much appreciated!

Gary

Close Outlook. Find and rename outcmd.dat to .old. (If using Windows 2000
or XP, you will need to enable searching hidden and system folders.)

Once you have done so, reopen Outlook and it should open fine. You will
need to rebuild any custom toolbars or customizations as the file outcmd.dat
controls how the toolbars display. When it becomes corrupted, it will cause
Outlook to hang because it cannot create the toolbars that you expect.

hey try creating another .pst file. B'coz as the .pst size
increases the file gets currupted, according to the size
of your memory, oaky

..pst files under a gig will not corrupt unless they are moved often.
Creating a new .pst file will only help if the file is corrupted.
