Outlook 2000 New Mail Notification Filtering

Hi-

I work with an IT support center in Chicago..Had a user
call today regarding Outlook. He is receiving several
emails from a test app that he's running, but does not
want the "new mail" icon to show up in his system tray for
those. He's set up a rule to permanently delete the item
when it arrives, but the new mail icon still shows up.
Any way to get rid of this icon ONLY on specific emails??
