I have messge rules defined with "Move messages based on content" but
frequently (i.e. not always) I find two copies of the e-mail - one in my
inbox, the other in the target folder defined in the message rule.

Anyone else heard of this & know how to resolve the problem?

You may have more than one rule acting on that message, which could
cause duplicates to be created. Try ending your rules with "stop
processing more rules" so that after one rule acts on a message, none of
the rules farther down on the list will also act upon it.

Thanks, this is the solution - I wrongly assumed that each message would
be operated on by a single rule - thanks very much for your help.

On another note, in Outlook 2000 when I search for a message I like to
see the column "Sent" but I have to manually add this column to the view
every time I do a search - is there a way of configuring this to be the
default?

I don't think the default columns in the Advanced Find dialog can be
permanently changed.

Thanks for letting me know it has been frustrating me for ages - at
least if I know it isn't possible I won't fret about it!
