Is there a maximum .pst file size for outlook 2000? My outlook locked up and
I sent it for repair. The repair person said 2 GB was maximum at which
outlook instantly crashed. I still have not gotten back the use of it. Is it
the .pst file I need to keep less than 2 GB?

Yes. More like 1.6 to 1.8 to be on the safe side...

I assume you mean that the outlook.pst must be kept below 1.6 gb, but what
about the archive.pst file size limit?

An archive PST is still a PST and all PSTs created by Outlook 2002 and
earlier are subject to the limitation.
