Hi,

Using Outlook 2000, I used to be able to view HTML attachments in the
preview pane.

Now I have to open the attachment in a separate browser window which is a
real pain. I can't figure out how to change the view back to the original
setting. Any ideas anyone?

At around the time that this happened I know I installed the latest service
pack, so does anyone know if this is a security feature in the pack to
prevent virus problems?

Thank you!

Outlook has never displayed attachments in the preview pane, so it's hard to
imagine what you might have been seeing in Outlook 2000.

Thanks for your response Sue,

Maybe my terminology is wrong, but my preview pane view has changed as a
result I suspect of either the installation of SP3 or implementation of the
Zone alarm firewall.

I regularly get sent emails with invoices sent as html attachments. I used
to be able to view the attachments automatically in the preview pane without
having to open them separately just by highlighting the email in the inbox.
I could quickly scan invoices just by navigating with the up and down
cursors on the list of emails in the inbox. Now it's a real pain having to
open each attachment separately.

If you have any ideas, please do share them with me. Thank you

Again, Outlook has never displayed attachments automatically in the preview
pane. If you were seeing them in the preview pane, then they were inline in
the mail message, not attached. It might be interesting to look at the full
message source of one of these messages. You can't do it in Outlook but if
you can access the same account with Outlook Express you should be able to
see them and see what kind of message parts the message contains.
