We recently moved all of our mailboxes from an NT box running Exchange
5.5 to a 2000 box which is running 5.5. Since then we have random
users experiencing the same problem...when attempting to view or open
a message containing an attachment, outlook will hang before
opening....the amount of time depends upon how large the attachment
is. (a 2-3 meg attachment takes 40-50 seconds to view the email
message, than another 40-50 seconds to open the attachment)
When I run outlook using the /Safe switch, all emails pop up
instantly.
I have taken the following steps---
Verified all of the latest office service packs and updates are
installed,
Deleted the profile and recreated it,
Renamed the OUTCMD.dat file
Turned off Preview Pane
Verified there were no add-ins
Ran the following switches: cleanfreebusy, cleanfinders,
cleanreminders, cleanviews, checkclient, resetfolders,
resetoutlookbar, nopreview, and the problem still exists.
I'm not crazy about removing office, reinstalling, re-service packing,
etc. on these computers, any other advice? Thanks in advance.
