I had an error message accessing my Outlook (2000) mailbox. I had
downloaded email, went back a little later to check messages and got an
error message that I needed to repair the mailbox using the Inbox Repair
Tool. I ran that & then created a new profile (when the problem wasn't
resolved) and was able to restore my calendar, inbox, contacts, etc. What
I'm now finding is that I can no longer synch my Palm Z22 with the "new"
Outlook calendar, contacts, etc.
I have been unable to find information online re: what to try next. I am
wondering whether part of the problem is that I did not right-click to close
the old .pst (personal) folders showing in my "folder
list" view within Outlook (I just found that suggestion re: closing that in
another message posted here)? I don't understand what happens to the old
"personal folders" that you "close"? Is any information in those files
deleted?
The new profile I created DOES show "Outlook Today" when I click on the
primary folder - "Personal Folders" - in this newly created file list (under
"view, folder list"); the "inbox" is active and receives downloaded emails,
etc. but I can't get the Palm to "synch", can't use my digital signature (in
Outlook) with emails since this happened, and Outlook isn't recognizing
signatures from others, etc.
Is this something where I'm going to have to remove Outlook and completely
reinstall? IF so, do I lose all my contacts, emails, etc. during the
uninstall of Outlook? If those files of information are affected (going to
get deleted), can you please suggest how to best do a backup for the
purposes of using them in the new installation?
Many thanks in advance for your advice!
