have you tried deleting the Extent.dat file in Outlook

Try disabling the NAV mailscan. It has some know issues and it slows up
Outlok as well.

.
I experienced the exact same error message following
migration of my W2K boot to a new, larger drive in a new
computer.

The solution that worked for me was to delete the data.dat
file. When I next opened Outlook it gave me a message
telling me that the profile was no good, to go to the
Tools/Services screen in Outlook, delete the current
profile and create a new one. That wasn't entirely
required, I simply re-entered the missing information.
