Outlook 2000 crashes constantly

Outlook 2000 has been crashing since it was first installed but usually only
if running for extended periods, like overnight. It is now crashing (for the
last couple of weeks) after a few minutes.
No error message just the "do you want to send error report" message.
I have downloaded updates (suggested by "Microsoft can fix the problem") at
least two sets might be 3. I have "test & repaired" twice.
Any suggestions?

Pretty sure it's SP-3. That's what it says in the "Help About". Since I down
loaded the updates I ran detect and repair twice (once was accidental) but
seems that SP-3 stayed in place.

I wonder if it might be conflicting with firewall. I use zone alarm pro
which like most stuff, updates automatically - I don't know when the last
time was but version is 5.5.062.011.

Maybe zone alarm is blocking access to internet of a component of outlook,
which upsets outlook and it shuts down in a bad temper.

That wouldn't be typical. If a firewall interferes with Outlook, the usual
effect is that you can't send or receive mail. Causing the application to
terminate would be unlikely.

Thanks. I am fishing for ideas. I agree cos I turned ZA off for a while and
MS Outlook still crashed.

This morning it crashed with no other programs switched on (by me). I
thought it might be conflicting with another program running (Iguess that is
still possible with background stuff)

Crofton,
I am having the exact same problem with Outlook 2003. If I leave it open
and go downstairs, when I return I have the send error report message. After
sending the error report Outlook spontaneously opens back up. I had Outlook
Connector installed and thought it might be the culprit, but after removing
it, no change. Hope there is someone out there with an answer cause it is a
real PITA.
Best Regards,
Connie

I am having the same problem, since about 2/13. using outlook 2000

Outlook is shutting down at very iregular intervals, sometimes right away,
sometimes it will let me get away with a couple of hours of uninterupted use.

The details on the error report show me:
C:\DOCUME~1\****\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER599a.dir00\OUTLOOK.EXE.mdmp
C:\DOCUME~1\****\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER599a.dir00\appcompat.txt
(**** instead of user name.)

I have tried changing settings out AV software, that did not work.
I have tried downloading windows updates, did not work.
I have tried "detect and repair", nothing.

if anyone out there has any ideas, please help.

Thanks,
Erez

Seems to me you asked this very question before and received responses. Why
ask again in a new thread?
