Outlook 2000 Contacts

I'm running OL 2000 and I need some assistance on how to electronically
reconcile a public contact folder and two private contact folders. I'm being
asked to go through each of the public contacts to make sure that all
contacts are the same as the ones from the private folders. Other people
have added to the public contact folder before me, so not sure of what they
did. I know that I can manually do this, but we have thousands of contacts
in the public contact folder and would be very time consuming. Does OL 2000
have an electronic way to do this or would we have to purchase software to
get this difficult task accomplished?
