Outlook 2000 capable of large contact list sends?

I have a hosted SMTP server account setup and it works by sending a simple
"test" email. However, when I split up a customer contact base of 21,000+
email addresses, to send a newsletter (in 4 separate emails to ease the
contacts load), it doesn't seem to work. I get a OUTLOOK.EXE- Application
Error.

I've repaired office and still get it when sending emails that have a lot of
email addresses in them.

Is Outlook 2000 just not meant to send emails with a lot of email addresses?
What should I do so I can start a marketing campaign for our company?

You should look into getting dedicated list server software or a list server host to manage that large a mailing list. Do you really want to be doing updates by hand for the 10% of returned messages you can expect?

Sue, thank you for your reply. I'm completely aware of my obstical regarding
our large customer email list. Outlook for the time-being, is just fine, as
I just copy and paste the email address of those unsubscribing into the
search feature of Outlook, and then delete the contact.

I'm actually going to use Network Solution's Constant Contact, but until I'm
caught up with my priorities so I can put some time into learning and
utilizing it, I am not ready.

Back to my question. Does Outlook have an issue sending emails with many
contact recipients?

Thank you.

How do you define "many"? Your ISP is likely to howl long before Outlook does.
