Outlook 2000 attachments

When I recieve a message with an attachment, outlook used
to prompt me to save it or to open it. Now it opens it
automaticly when you click on it. Is there a way to put
it back(get prompt)?
 
Open Outlook
Select the TOOLS menu
Select OPTIONS...
Select the SECURITY tab
Click the ATTACHMENT SECURITY... button
Select the radio button next to HIGH on

Where is the ATTACHMENT SECURITY... button, when i open
up the Security tab I have a Button for ATTACHMENT
SECURITY
 
Maybe not...what version number is your Outlook?
You can find this number by opening the HELP menu
and selecting ABOUT MICROSOFT OUTLOOK.

This is Outlook with the Microsoft Office SP 3 which provides
a registry setting to unblock certain attachment file types.

It sounds like at some point you or someone on your machine
edited your level settings to allow you to open certain file types.

Try reading up on this at Sue Mosher's Slipstick site (link below)
I think you could use one of the tools or edit the registry yourself
to place the attachment types into a more desirable level setting:
