Hi guys,

Can anyone assist with two strange problems my mate has encountered at work
please?

2 problems (may be related)

1. Select a shared contacts folder in the folder list, in the status bar it
says there are 1489 records in the folder. Select all in folder and copy
paste to Excel – it copies only 1022. I’m assuming this is because some
records have been set to private. I want to be able to see all the records
that have private set on, but I don’t know which user has created them as
private. How can I find the records to set the private flag off?

2. I do a filter on the full contacts list to show those records where the
Categories field doesn’t contain ‘xxx’. (This text string is unique – there
are no other categories that contain it.) I select all and copy them to a
test contacts folder. The status bar says there are 1020 items in the
folder. If I select all and copy to Excel, it says there are 1022 records.
So this is kind of the reverse of the first problem – there appear to be
more records than the count indicates. What might be causing this and how
to resolve it?

Note the reason we’re doing this is to ensure that we can see all contact
records in the folder, and that the filter works properly, so we know we are
able to get hold of the records we want to.

TIA

Manic
