All,

After installing the service/security pack for Office200 & Xp, Outlook
now
prompts the user with a security dialog box asking whether to allow
this action
and for how many minutes. This occurs when users mail merge and it
pops up for every piece of email. In other words, to merge several
hundred emails, you need to click ok in this box several hundred
times! We have specified allow the function for 15, 20 minutes etc
but, this function does not apply here since Outlook seems to think
each individual email we're trying to merge is a different
transaction!

There's an Admin template that we can use but, it requires an Exchange
based email system. We are not running Exchange. Is there a registry
hack, patch or fix? We want to turn this popup box off !

I hope this request is clear, I am getting the information second hand
!

THANKS !

The security dialogs that pop up when an application tries to access certain
Outlook properties and methods are designed to inhibit the spread of viruses
via Outlook; see http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/esecup.htm#autosec. They
cannot be simply turned on or off with a user option or registry setting.

Standalone users can use a free tool called Express ClickYes
(http://www.express-soft.com/mailmate/clickyes.html) to click the security
dialog buttons automatically. Beware that this means if a virus tries to
send mail using Outlook or gain access to your address book, it will
succeed.

Outlook 2002 will not pop up a security prompt in an e-mail merge if the
merge is set to use HTML format.
