Good morning/afternoon/evening,

I have a contact, name "Beth Ann May," (displayed as May,
Beth Ann in 'contacts') who has 2 listed e-mail
addresses, one of which is (e-mail address removed), the
other (e-mail address removed). When I click "New" to
send a new message, and begin to type "Beth Ann May,"
outlook's autocomplete doesn't respond, however, when I
type "b.ma" outlook completes the
remaining "(e-mail address removed)"

Is there a way to set up how outlook recognizes contacts
it will autocomplete addresses for, and are there any way
to set autocomplete parameters? Thanks in advance for
all your help,

Steve Carpineta

You are confusing autocompletion with autoresolution. The former uses a
cache created from emails you have already sent. Only the latter uses your
Contacts information.

If you sent a message to this contact from this same profile in the past,
the address will appear in the autocompletion suggestion list from then on.
If, however, the address does not also contain the Familiar Name (some
don't), autocompletion will have no way to recognize it. Your Contact
information will not be searched until you invoke autoresolution.

Russ (or anyone,)

Thanks for astutely pointing that out, but can anyone
actually explain this phenomenon? I *HAVE* already sent
multiple e-mails to this contact. Thansk again!
