Where can I get a list of options for opening items in outlook via
outlook:???

Should I then be able to type the address into IE and have Outlook open ?

I thought it was clear what I was asking...

It's possible to specify outlook:??? and open an item

And I'm asking what are the options that I can use to open Outlook using
outlook:??? as a short cut ?

Michael

Clear by no means no.

You are asking if you can use Outlook to open Outlook. Explain the latter which makes no sense at all.

What is it that you want to achieve. Use a shortcut to open Outlook . I just do not seem to understand your question.

Also which version of Outlook are you talking about

Again . Read the below link

He's asking about the outlook URI scheme, e.g. outlook::today, which
does work when typed into a browser (even Firefox) because Outlook has
registered itself as the handler for that URI scheme in the Windows
registry. I know I've seen people ask before about what other
resources might be supported, but there's certainly no list from
Microsoft. You can make Outlook display a given folder that way, I
believe, that's about it.

Thanks - that's exactly it .... it's clear if you know the technology :)

However it turns out that Outlook 2007 has removed this capability outside
of it's own folder web pages.
