outllook express dbx files

i recently upgraded from me to xp. in the process my dbx
files from 2001 (when I upgraded from 98se to me) to
present are missing from the normal location. would they
have been moved or backed up to another location in the
upgrade process?
 
They are still there, just hidden. Set your search to show hidden files,
then search for *.dbx files. When you find them, write down the path. Then
open OE and use the import feature to browse to the location you found and
import the files.
