When I attempt to put a phone number into one of my contacts in Outlook 2003,
I then receive a "location information" window that asks for country, area
code, etc. I do not want to autodial, I simply want to save that info as
part of my contact for each individual. I then have to go to task manager
and close it out, as it puts it in a loop. I read another posting about this
being an XP registry problem, but I was not able to ascertain what the exact
solution is.

Thank you,

Stephen

You simply need to set the default dialing location for you operating system
so Outlook will know how to format the phone number.

I guess what I am saying is I do not want to make a phone/modem connection..I
just want to store the number.

Ok. Realizing that I do not want to dial those numbers, just store the
numbers in my contact list? How do I make that change in XP?

And you can't store it properly until your configure WIndows' dialing
options, even if you're not going to dial.

Thank you Brian. I just do not remember having to do that when I set up
other computers. Anyway, appreciate your help.

I'm having the same trouble but I cannot access my Phone and Modem Settings.
