Outllok can not find default e-mail folders

I get the error message that Outlook can not open because the default e-mail folders can not be found or accessed. I'm using Outlook Express but would rather use Outlook XP. How do get the default e-mail folders so I can begin to use Outllook?

Outlook wanted the *pst file. Please search this file on your hard drive and
show outlook where the file is.

please RUN | SEARCH and search for the *.pst file. But include unshown
folders.
FILE | IMPORT| From another Program or file| Personal Folder file (*.pst) |
