outllok 2002 is very slow

When moving from one message to another using the arrow
keys , outlook 2002 is very slow and it take time to
display the message
 
Are you on Exchange or not? What operating system are you on?

Try disabling the Messenger integration;
Tools-> Options-> tab Other
