Only text in text placeholders shows in the Outline pane. If you have text in
text boxes that you added, it doesn't show. If you need to see text, you
could use a text placeholder, add the text, and drag it off the slide. It'll
show in the Outline pane, but not on the slide.

Only text in placeholders (those Click Here boxes you see when you create a new
slide) appears in the outline.
