There is a nice discussion of this at
http://bit.ly/G46Pm. It deals
specifically with two Canadian ISPs, but the workaround and solutions
discussed there are pretty generally applicable.

Strictly speaking, this is not a port 25 block, as would have been
the case if Verizon had completely blocked your access to
mail.insightbb.com. However, mail.insightbb.com is responding to you
with that "554 mail.insightbb.com" error message, which it would not have
been able to do if a complete port 25 block existed. The problem here
is that mail.insightbb.com is refusing to carry out the port 25 SMTP
transaction, apparently because it knows you are connecting from another
network. Enough tech talk, now for the workarounds.

However, when I had this problem, it was actually TWO issues - my SMTP
port
setting and my authentication setting. here's how I corrected it.
First: Double check your POP & SMTP settings ... be certain that you are
using the correct port settings as provided by the server. Windows will,
by
default, fill in a port number (which may or may not be correct).
To modify authentication settings in Windows Mail:
Click TOOLS > ACCOUNTS > Under Mail, click the email account you're having
trouble with > Click PROPERTIES > click SERVERS tab > Under Outgoing Mail,
select "my server requires authentication" (for many servers, the
information
is identical to your sign-in information and no other modifications are
required) > Click OK > Close Windows Mail, reopen & try resending the mail
from the outbox (click SEND/RECEIVE > SEND ALL)
If you still have trouble... post again.

I can receive mail from windows mail but can not send,I get this error.

The right way varies depending on who your internet provider is,
so you may have to ask your internet provider. It may be shown
on one of their web pages.

Re: outgoing
What email program program are you using? The error message doesn't
look like it's from Windows Mail, the email program usually discussed
in this newsgroup.
Does your connection to that server go through any other internet
provider's equipment before it gets to insightbb.com? If it does, such
connections to port 25 are often blocked to cause trouble for
spammers.

You might have just answered my question though as I use a Verizon Access
card on the laptop so it goes thru them before connecting to insight
Is there any way around the block of port 25?
