I'm having the same problem, got the error message:
The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'test', Account:
'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP,
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): Yes, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

Confirmed that port 25 is being used for outgoing, 110 for incoming.
Uninstalled McAfee, still have the same problem

HELP

Remove your account and close and reopen Winmail and then add it back again
and see if that fixes it after getting rid of McAfee.

Didn't help. Tried rebooting also.

Are you using any AV (virus) scanner for your incoming\outgoing mail? I read that you did remove McAfee but is there a chance there might be another scanner still in place

Yes, I uninstalled McAfee and the Norton that came loaded on the HP. So I
only have the windows security as far as I can tell. Is there something in
that I should change? My mail provider is Comcast.

After removing those, remove your mail account and then close and reopen
WinMail and add the account back again. See if it works then.

Did that. Also turned of Windows Defender and Firewall. Rebooted. Added
back in account, got the following error message:

'mail.comcast.net', Server: 'smtp.comcast.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,

Changed outgoing port to 587 (read about this on another thread) IT WORKS!!!!

Thanks to all of you for your help.
