Never enter your logon details to that pop-up window, they will not be
retained.
When mail sending or receive fails and that box pops up always click cancel,
and try to send again.

Enter your correct password and username at the tools menu>accounts>select
your account>properties>server tab.

Can you log on to your mail providers website with those PW & UN
combination?

Who is your mail provider, the part beyond the @ in your email address?

Who is your ISP?

You probably don't have the settings correct. review the directions from
your mail provider and ensure that ALL of the details, including server
names, port numbers and SSL settings, are correct. Unfortunately, some
providers aren't very good at documenting all this, but many do have full
details.

Then, be sure that you are using the correct username and password. To
check this, use Notepad and enter them there; then use copy and paste to
enter them into the Web interface. If you get in, you know that what is in
Notepad is correct, and can be copied and pasted into the Windows Mail
settings.
