I cant send email because my Outbox has a message that "message could not be
sent. An error has occurred". What can I do to purge this email in order to
send messags?

If you can't delete that stuck message in the outbox,
you should try Steve's new edition of WMUtil:
http://www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/
When you download the file, be sure to choose Save rather than Run.
After it finishes downloading choose Run, then Extract. Then it will
show the extracted folder with two files in it. Run WMUtil.exe, and
click Clear Outbox. It may take a while.

DOES anyone know if Steve's edition of WMUtil really works. I have a brand
new laptop with Vista from Hell AND have an outgoing email that I CANNOT
delete..
Please tell me this works as I cannot get hold of Microsoft til Monday and
that is 3 days without getting or sending emails...

Help!!!

Thnx this thing is realy working!

The current version works. There was a bug in an earlier version that
caused it not to work for some people.

I bought this computer in JAN....and did not start using it til 3 weeks
ago...So I assume my computer had the orginal problem with outgoing emails
NOT being able to be deleted, as it the case with me.

PLEASE tell me how to delete these outbox messages as I am not a techie and
am New TO THIS...Please, in english and not techie language as I really
really need your help.

THANKS
Andy

Dear Bontasha,
Re: Advice
Use one of the free programs which actually work until Microsoft gets
it sorted out.
Sincerely,
Mr. David Oltmann

Thanks for replying. Which free programs do you mean? Where can I find them?
kind regards
Bontasha

After all of your hard work and the words you put on this message board, I
got it to work and clear the one item in my outbox.

Opinion: This new Vista is a piece of you know what. Support is minimal and
so many bugs. Thanks guys for all your work.

We are just making MS richer with our dedication.

I appreciate this site and the expertise of all associated with it.

From the WMUtil website:

(If WinMail is closed and these buttons still remain disabled, then perform
and CTRL-SHIFT-ESC and under Processes find WinMail.exe and click on it, and
then click the End Process button.)

If you can't delete those messages, and they are stuck in the outbox,
you should try the latest edition of the WMUtil utility:
http://www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/
When you download the file, be sure to choose Save rather than Run.
After it finishes downloading choose Run, then Extract. Then it will
show the extracted folder with two files in it. Run WMUtil.exe, and
click Clear Outbox. It may take a while. Before you start, make sure
Windows Mail is not running.

Press Ctrl-Shift-Esc which will bring up the Task Manager.
Go to the Processes tab and make sure WinMail.exe is not
running. If it is, end it.

You're reading my message out of context. I said absolutely nothing about a
newer version of Windows Mail.

Windows Mail is full of bugs, but don't blame Vista for that. Different
programming teams. I think Vista has less bugs than WinXP did at this
point.
