Out of sync

My avi video file which is pretty huge does not have sync
with audio and video..i mean the audio comes about 5 or 6
frames slower in PPT.
This does not happen in Win Media Player.
Why does it happen this way?
 
What codec did you use?
How big is the AVI (frame size, length, MB)?
Are you up to date with drivers for your display adapter and DirectX?
