My youngest was on one of our computers clicking away.
When I returned the letters and icons were big. I right
clicked and clicked on display mode. I changed the the
number to a very high pixels..I guess. Now the screen
only says Out of range or invalid code and we are unable
to bring the screen back....What do we do?? Some one
please help us.

The "Signal Out of Range" error is your monitor telling you
that it's no longer receiving any usable input from your video card.
You, or someone else using the computer, may have set your display
settings to something that your monitor cannot handle.

Boot into VGA Mode and then set the display (resolution, refresh
rate, and/or number of colors) to something that your monitor can
handle. Consult both the video card's and the monitor's manuals for
details.

Next time you make a change like that, you can hit escape right away to go
back to the previous display mode. Or, if you wait 30 seconds, it should
revert back as well. You have 30 seconds to click OK, but if you hit enter
or clicked the mouse, you might have done that inadvertently.

This time around, you can go into safe mode and reset you display settings.
Hit f8 as the computer is starting and you'll get a menu that lets you
select safe mode.

Then, when you restart, you'll be back in normal mode, and you can fiddle
with the display settings to get them the way that you want. Just remember
that if you goof, you just need to hit escape, or wait patiently for that 30
seconds for the screen to revert.
