I want to know how to set up an out of office message
which automatically replies to any email received in my
inbox whilst away.
I work from home and am not connected into a server
and have windows xp.
This is normally a server setting, not one that you set on your
computer. So I'm not sure it's possible.
You could try this: Create a rule that will execute on every message,
and the action would be to "reply" using a template.
But a "smart" out-of-office message system will not send this message
to the same sender more than once. I don't see any way in Outlook
(2000) to keep this from happening.
Another thought is: get an outside mail provider. I have one for my
business email. The online help mentions "autoresponders" but doesn't
clearly describe how it works. But this is useful enought that I'm
certain that somebody offers it.
