Out of Office automation

Is there a way to automate the enabling of the out of office state when an
appointment is set to out of office? The thing is, at noon on the day before
vacation, I can't turn on the out of office state because I'm still in the
office, but by 4:30 or 5:00 on the day before vacation I'm thinking about
things that need to be cleaned up before I leave, finishing emails, getting
documents out, fixing one last bug so testing can have it while I'm out, not
"Oh yeah, I need to turn on the out of office setting in Outlook!!!". I've
already set up my vacation as an appointment which indicates I'm out of the
office if someone looks at my calendar, I should be able to check a box when
I set up the appointment that turns on my out of office rules when the
appointment starts.
 
Set a separate item - I am on an every other Friday schedule to be off and I
set a reminder for Thursday at 4:45 to Turn on Out-of-Office Assistant.
Works perfectly for the last 7 years.
