It was mentioned that this anti spywear will remain free
for home users once out of beta, but will carry a cost
for corporate users working over a network.

My question is how do you tell the difference between a
corporate user and a home user with one or two computers
on a network?

Thank you.

Most likely the corporate edition will have the ability to deploy, update,
manage over the network with a central console.

I'm reasonably sure there'll be a feature set suitable for corporate
customers that will be enabled by a purchase process. I suspect all
customers will be able to look at the cost and decide whether they want the
feature set and convenience offered. There may well be equal size networks
that will choose to go with the managed version and others that do not.

Yeah, It's just a matter of choice. ;)

This is not actually what MS have said: they have stated that MSAS
(i.e., the 'standalone' version now in beta) will be free for all
Windows licence holders (i.e., those that have a legitimate icence, as
opposed to those who have not). There is no distinction between home
users and corporate users - they will all be able to use it free of
charge.

It seems that MS will, however, probably produce a corporate edition of
MSAS at some stage, which will offer additional features, and that
edition will not be free.

Hi Steve,
The final wording isn't out yet thus no one is quite sure how the cut will
be made.
FWIW, as present, the existing beta isn't made for networks, and can play
some individual havoc with scripts coming downstream from the Admins.
