Out fo Sync speech

Help needed I have edited a video, however when playing back the speech is
out of sync. I have tried reducing the size of the clips to overcome this to
no avail, can anyone help please.

What file types have you used?
Is the speech an added narration or part of the audio from the movie?
Where is it out of sync, on the preview, saved movie, dvd?
