Oulook 2003, Word issues..

Howdy,
I've recently installed Outlook '03. I have a couple of
questions. First, is it possible to use Word as an email
editor if I didn't update from Word '02? Second, is it
possible to view full email headers automatically without
clicking on the specific mail->options->etc.?

OK, so I can't use Word as an editor/spell checker. I
have the spell checker icon on my toolbar. In the rules
it says it could 'automatically' begin each sentence with
a capital letter, reconize certain 'obvious' errors, etc.
It doesn't and everything is checked off properly in
options.

I'm confused, as if I needed any help.

what message format are you using? With the outlook editor I don't think
autocorrect works with HTML.

Why not? It sounds like this problem has existed at least since
Outlook 2002. Is Microsoft going to refuse to fix it?

It really isn't acceptable, as when you reply to messages that are
HTML, you reply in HTML. This means that even with defaults set to
Rich Text, you still get screwed when composing replies.

My problem is that although Exchange Server allows "free" Outlook 2003
use for each of my users, it doesn't make the same offer for Word
2003. Almost everyone here has Word XP or Word 2000, neither of which
work with Outlook 2003 for some reason.
 
That is correct. Word can only be set as the e-mail editor when it is the
same version as Outlook. This has been the case for all version of Outlook.

Really? That's pretty customer unfriendly. Here I've got my entire
organization on a mix of Office 2000 / Office XP, and I go and blow a
couple thousand to migrate from a free Unix/IMAP solution to Exchange
Server 2003 on top of Windows Server 2000 plus all the user CALs which
entitle me to Outlook 2003. Now MS is going to require I upgrade all
those legitimate users of Office 2000 / Office XP to Office 2003 just
so they can spell check and do search/replace?

Gee, that's so very nice of them...
