Is there anyone who has tried both of these programs? Which would you
recommend?
Thanks

I use Oubliette (I have version 1.9); it's sort of nice for a freebie. It
does have password protection and is fairly easy to use and understand.

I've never used Password Safe, so I can't speak for it.

I do have another freebie called Whisper 32
(http://www.ivory.org/whisper.html). It's also password protectable.

Dare I mention that the best one I have I bought a few years ago for $20.00
called (would you believe it?) Password Manager. It's the best one but not a
freebie. (http://www.passwordmanager.net/).

X-No-Archive: yes

I prefer PINs - very similar to Password Manager but has more features
(import/export + auto minimise) and is free.

Hello Dansheen:

I've never used Oubliette but I do use Password Safe.

Never have had a problem with it. No install, will run on a floppy or
any kind of drive. Self encrypts the file and a number of locking the
database option such as lock on minimize.

I started using Oubliette (ver. 1.6) several years ago. I like its
ability to link to a web page and its memo field.

I used to use Password Safe and have swapped to oubliette.
They are both excellent programs. pwsafe does not sort
the entries, thus finding the required entry requires
a little more effort than does finding an entry in
oubliette. In general, oubliette has more configeration
options than pwsafe. pwsafe starts up faster.

cheers
