are there any other websites other than microsoft website to download
windows updates? sometimes they get slow etc.... may be useful if other
websites could host or provide updates also

would never be as secure as when you get them from the
Man and I find downloading and installing time to be
better than average myself . What is your connection,
Broadband Cable Dsl, ask you I.P for more info on getting
your speed up.
 
No, at least not authorized.
There would be no guarantees with patches from unknown sources.
There is no way of knowing if the files were tampered deliberately or
accidentally.
